A brief reflection on 2024 and a look ahead at our new league and what to expect this coming season in 2025.

London Broncos players celebrate being crowned Southern Champions for the second year in a row - 2024

2024 was another successful year for the London Broncos Women's team despite ending with some disappointment; testament to the ambitions of this squad.

The London Broncos Women took another step further in their journey; with the possibility of promotion to the Women's Super league available for the first time, the Broncos made it all the way to the National Championship Final and narrowly missed out on reaching the Promotion Playoff.

On the way, they were crowned the Southern Champions for the second year in a row, defeating Cardiff Demons in Cardiff with a convincing 8-28 victory.

London faced Northern Champions Leigh Leopards in the next round and travelled to Alexander Stadium in Birmingham for the game. Despite a strong start, it wasn't to be, as Leigh clinched the result in the dying minutes 22-18.

The disappointment amongst the team at the final whistle only goes to show the belief the Broncos women had and the determination they will take into 2025 to go another step further.

2025 brings with it a new set of challenges as London Broncos have been successfully accepted into the Northern Championship competition.

The Broncos find themselves in a brand new league for this coming season and will face a new set of opponents, alongside Southern rivals Cardiff Demons. The Northern Championship consists of 12 teams, mostly based in the North of the country, and a season of 12 fixtures in which London will play Cardiff twice and the remaining teams once each. This will take place alongside the prestigious Challenge Cup competition to which London Broncos have also been invited.

The new competition will bring an exciting higher level of women's RL to the South, the drama of some unknown competition and a number of competitive games for the Broncos to dig their teeth into. Not to mention, with an extended season, fans and supporters can enjoy at least x6 Home games of a fantastic standard!
